Ron and Janet Benrey

Ron and Janet Benrey have been a literary partnership since 1989. Working together, they have co-authored nine novels, launched a small press, written an impressive collection of marketing communications materials for several major corporations, and taught dozens of writing courses and seminars.

Ron and Janet recently founded Fiction After 50, the online community for novelists of a certain age. They’re currently developing webinars and courses to teach fiction writers the essential skills for creating publishable novels.

Ron continues to write non-fiction books (and some fiction). His latest is Know Your Rights – A Survival Guide for Non-Lawyers. Ron taught advanced writing courses as a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of Pittsburgh; he has led dozens of fiction seminars and workshops at major writers conferences in the U.S. and Canada. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a master’s degree in management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a juris doctor from the Duquesne University School of Law. He’s a member of the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Janet operates Benrey Literary Agency. She has worked in many different aspects of book development. Janet has served as as the editorial director of a small press, a book publicist, a novelist, and a literary agent. Janet earned her degree in Communication (Magna cum Laude) from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a frequent speaker and teacher at leading writers conferences.
